Troops and families across the country will pitch tents, light fires, roast s'mores, and gather in the great outdoors. Over 100,000 families have participated in the Backyard Campout over the last three years. Utilizing an approach suited to boys that focuses on building character, fostering relationships, and having good old-fashioned outdoor fun, [Trail Life USA](https://traillifeusa.com/) encourages boys and their families to leave behind electronic distractions and to enjoy God's Creation. This year, the organization is excited to go back to the basics with an overview of basic bushcraft skills, including knot-tying, fire-starting, wood carving, outdoor medicine and remedies, and navigation. To prepare participants to learn these valuable skills, Trail Life provides [helpful videos](https://www.youtube.com/@TrailLifeUSA) to walk fathers and sons through the steps. Those who register for the campout event will be entered into a drawing to win various prizes.  "We at Trail Life are so excited about the opportunities for outdoor adventure provided by the annual Nationwide Campout," Trail Life CEO Mark Hancock said in a press release. "In Trail Life, boys regularly leave daily duties and digital distractions behind. They join with their mentors and fathers in the outdoors where relationships form naturally, time seems to slow, and boys are able to listen, connect, and grow." "Away from daily concerns, cell phone distraction, social media interaction, and video game pseudo-satisfaction is a real world of wonder — a world of adventure and exploration, where crickets chirp, campfires crackle, stars twinkle, freshly caught fish simmer, and pocketknives whittle," Hancock noted.  "As boys and men gather around the campfire and stories begin to be shared, truth comes to life and boys begin to 'get it.'  The Bible is such a practical book, and at Trail Life, we talk about the [*Six Essential Concepts of a Christian Worldview*](https://www.traillifeusa.com/christian-worldview) which are solid, tangible concepts boys can grasp. Boys need a venue like Trail Life where they can rub shoulders with men, where leadership can be tested, where faith can be experienced, and truth can come to life," the Trail Life CEO concluded.   ***[Click here for more information about Trail Life USA's Nationwide Campout.](https://www.traillifeusa.com/nationwide-campout-2023) ***   Original article published by [CBN News](https://www2.cbn.com/news/us/trail-life-usa-holds-nationwide-campout-impart-christian-worldview-gods-world-wonder?utm_content=247068442&utm_medium=social&utm_source=facebook&hss_channel=fbp-345852372203206&fbclid=IwAR1vJmEHexAcURRZ3XYD4pueyQN1nzJly01agGFy2qv-EkAicjm4S4w-_38)   [![Start a Troop](https://no-cache.hubspot.com/cta/default/6459804/6b97d556-3b4d-4b1c-bd0f-34ede9c766c8.png)](https://cta-redirect.hubspot.com/cta/redirect/6459804/6b97d556-3b4d-4b1c-bd0f-34ede9c766c8)   [![Find a Troop](https://no-cache.hubspot.com/cta/default/6459804/9420b3e5-7e8d-4eed-85d4-79dc384b6f91.png)](https://cta-redirect.hubspot.com/cta/redirect/6459804/9420b3e5-7e8d-4eed-85d4-79dc384b6f91) ###### About the Author ### Press Release Share this Post - [** ](http://www.facebook.com/share.php?u=https://blog.traillifeusa.com/world-of-wonder) - [** ](https://x.com/intent/post?url=https://blog.traillifeusa.com/world-of-wonder&text=Trail%20Life%20USA%20Holds%20Nationwide%20Campout%20to%20Impart%20a%20Christian%20Worldview%20in%20God's%20'World%20of%20Wonder') - [** ](https://plus.google.com/share?url=https://blog.traillifeusa.com/world-of-wonder) - [** ](http://www.linkedin.com/shareArticle?mini=true&url=https://blog.traillifeusa.com/world-of-wonder) - [** ](http://pinterest.com/pin/create/button/?url=https://blog.traillifeusa.com/world-of-wonder&text=Trail%20Life%20USA%20Holds%20Nationwide%20Campout%20to%20Impart%20a%20Christian%20Worldview%20in%20Gods%20World%20of%20Wonderdescription=Nationwide%20Campout%20from%20April%2028-30%20Trail%20Life%20USA,%20the%20largest%20Christ-centered,%20boy-focused%20scout-type%20organization%20in%20the%20country,%20is%20holding%20its%20fourth[...]&media=https://6459804.fs1.hubspotusercontent-na1.net/hubfs/6459804/NationwideCampout_BlogHeader.jpg) - [** ](https://www.reddit.com/submit?url=https://blog.traillifeusa.com/world-of-wonder) - [** ](mailto:?subject=Trail%20Life%20USA%20Holds%20Nationwide%20Campout%20to%20Impart%20a%20Christian%20Worldview%20in%20Gods%20World%20of%20Wonder%20&%20body=https://blog.traillifeusa.com/world-of-wonder) This is a search field with an auto-suggest feature attached. - There are no suggestions because the search field is empty. ##### Recent Posts #### [Sons of Liberty, Sons of Legacy: John Hancock — Protector](https://blog.traillifeusa.com/sons-of-liberty-sons-of-legacy-john-hancock-protector) #### [The Boys Who Build Nations](https://blog.traillifeusa.com/celebrating-250) #### [Stepping into Adventure: How Small Adventures Shape Strong Men](https://blog.traillifeusa.com/stepping-into-adventure-how-small-adventures-shape-strong-men) #### [Faithful Fathers, Future Men](https://blog.traillifeusa.com/faithful-fathers-future-men) #### [Sons of Liberty, Sons of Legacy: Jackson Ream—Strength](https://blog.traillifeusa.com/sons-of-liberty-sons-of-legacy-jackson-ream-strength) ### Categories - [Trail Life USA (145)](https://blog.traillifeusa.com/tag/trail-life-usa) - [Masculinity (102)](https://blog.traillifeusa.com/tag/masculinity) - [Raising Godly Boys (93)](https://blog.traillifeusa.com/tag/raising-godly-boys) - [In The News (84)](https://blog.traillifeusa.com/tag/in-the-news) - [Mentoring (82)](https://blog.traillifeusa.com/tag/mentoring) - [Leadership (68)](https://blog.traillifeusa.com/tag/leadership) - [Parenting (66)](https://blog.traillifeusa.com/tag/parenting) - [Let Boys be Boys (42)](https://blog.traillifeusa.com/tag/let-boys-be-boys) - [History (40)](https://blog.traillifeusa.com/tag/history) - [Service (40)](https://blog.traillifeusa.com/tag/service)
