Trail Life USA is pleased to join respected organizations like Family Talk, Samaritan’s Purse, American Heritage Girls, and Family Life in attaining accreditation with the Evangelical Council for Financial Accountability (ECFA).
Founded in 1979, the ECFA accredits its members and holds them to high standards of accountability with respect to governance, financial management, stewardship, and fundraising practices. Members of ECFA accredited organizations know they are involved with an organization they can trust to carry out the Great Commission while meeting high standards. For nearly 40 years, ECFA has effectively used a pass-fail approach requiring its members to meet all of its standards – all of the time!
Each organization accredited by the ECFA must adhere to seven standards of responsible stewardship that are drawn from scripture encompassing: doctrinal issues, governance, financial oversight, use of resources and compliance with laws, transparency, compensation-setting and related-party transactions, and stewardship of charitable gifts. The Christ-centered ministries accredited by ECFA include churches, denominations, educational institutions, rescue missions, camps, and many other types of tax-exempt 501(c)(3) organizations. Collectively, these organizations represent over $26 billion in annual revenue.
In seeking to be the premier Christ-centered, boy-focused, outdoor adventure-based, character and leadership development program Trail Life USA is committed to high standards. A few of our essential values include stewardship, integrity, and debt aversion. The ECFA seal of excellence affirms the Trail Life USA commitment to these principles and the EFCA accrediting body serves as an accountability partner to offer Trailmen and donors confidence in both the financial and spiritual health of Trail Life USA. We thank God for this blessing and look forward to our future!
